Community School

What is a Community School?
Community schools are a collaborative approach to education that integrates academic, social, and health services, creating a supportive environment for students, families, and communities. By providing resources and addressing various needs, community schools aim to foster student success and well-being. This year, our focus is on gathering data to identify the top three needs of our community, improving school attendance to reduce chronic and habitual absenteeism, supporting families facing food insecurity, connecting families to vital community resources, enhancing student recognition for academic progress, and increasing MCAP and iReady test scores.
What is a Community School Coordinator?
A Community School Coordinator is the liaison or connecter of the school and community. We create, strengthen and maintain the bridge between the school and community. We facilitate and provide leadership for the collaborative process and development of services for children, families and community members within a school neighborhood.
